Description:Clichéd portraits? Never! Christina’s got a great eye for capturing the spirit, originality and personality of her subjects. Her portraits range from achingly poignant to quirky/funky/cool, depending on the desires and whims of the uniquely wonderful people she’s photographing, and “the moment.” A Seattle native, Christina enjoys exploring the city for offbeat, interesting locations for photo shoots. It’s in those settings that Christina explores big bold colors and patterns to accent the complexity of her subjects – whether they’re little people or big people. She also makes pictures in her professional studio complete with hardwood floors, high ceilings, windows and amazing natural light. Photography first captured Christina’s imagination as a child via the book “The Family of Man,” an illuminating collection of images from a show at The Museum of Modern Art. The book’s 503 photographs, taken in 68 countries around the world, capture the essence of what it means to be human. At its best, that’s what good photography should do, and it’s what Christina strives for in every picture. Christina’s work is represented by the European Photo Agency AGE in Barcelona, Spain. Her images have appeared in Spanish, German and Belgian publications, the Seattle Times and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.. She has also worked with The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign. Christina is also a volunteer photographer for Souluminations, a non profit that provides professional photography for sick children and adults. Christina is a University of Washington graduate and earned a Master’s in Education from Antioch University. She studied photography at Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts in the Professional Photography program and has been exploring the world with a camera for more than a decade.
